X-Stitch Dishcloth

Size

Materials

One skein Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Cotton Yarn or any 4-ply cotton yarn in Main Color and a small amount of Contrasting color 

Size H aluminum hook

Gauge

Unimportant

Note: Work in ends as you change colors.

 

With main color, ch 35.

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (34 sc)

Row 2: Ch 3, (counts as first dc and turning ch throughout pattern), turn. *Skip next st, dc in next st, working around dc just made, dc in skipped st. Repeat from * to last st, dc in last. (34 st)

Row 3 – 6:  With Main Color, repeat Row 2. End off Main Color and join Contrasting Color.

Row 7 - 8: With Contrasting Color, repeat Row 2.  End off Contrasting Color and join Main Color.

Row 9: With Main Color, repeat Row 2.

Row 10 - 11: With Contrasting Color, repeat Row 2.

Row 12 – 16: With Main Color, repeat Row 2.

Row 17: Ch 1, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (34 sc)

End off Main Color. Attach Contrasting Color and work 3 sc in each corner and 2 sc in each dc along sides and 1 sc in each st along top and bottom.
